Can we say lucky? My parents treated us to skiing on a Tuesday and then Jake's parents took us on Wednesday before we left. I couldn't have been happier! And I think Jake was pretty excited about it too. He did wish they would have had more snow so he could have done more of his crazy stuff.
The day with the Rabe's was awesome! I think the coolest thing about the day was that it was the first time, since I've been in the family which is 7 years now, that the entire family was there! Can you believe it? All four kids and their spouses were there.
Plus, Brad had his best friend Doug as well. Perfection to say the least.
There was a huge storm the night before and pretty much the whole time we were there. It was nice to have some fresh snow on the mountain. And I was able to get some great coaching from all the Rabe's. They are pros, seriously. I really think that I've improved a ton!
It's funny, every time I go with Jake he tells me I'll be fine to follow he and his brothers around. And each time I do. I don't know why I forget that I am not even close to their league. Strawberry was great. I'm glad they talked me in to that but to get back we had to go through Dan's run. Oh no.
I did make it but I felt bad that I was holding Jake back so I took a little break to let the boys go crazy.
I know that the whole family had a wonderful time. We were even able to get a picture of all the siblings. Don't we look so cute? Not me. I really wish the picture of me and Jake would have been better because Basin looked so pretty behind us. If we could only take out my face....
By the end of the day my legs were burning. It really takes a lot out of you to go two days in a row when you haven't skied in two years. But we survived and Jake did wear his knee brace. He said it didn't bother him at all. The best thing about the day was being with my hubby. I miss the days when we would skip school or work and go skiing. Now we are old with two kids and can't catch a break. At least we got a little taste.....
We did it! The year of walking!
