Ok, you're probably thinking how many Christmas' are we going to give our kids? There is actually one more after this.....kidding, really. We felt like since we came home on New Year's Eve that would should have our own Christmas morning. We already had some things we got for the boys that they hadn't opened up yet. So we had our third Christmas morning.
It was so much fun to have just the four of us! And by now, Nolan really understood what opening presents was all about.
I few months back I was out running with the boys and came across this car table. One nice thing about Wisconsin is when someone is done with something they first put it out on their front yard before they throw it away. Someones trash is another persons treasure. And to us this was a find!!! I had been thinking the boys needed something they could drive their cars on. Plus, Nolan has been really in to trains so we had the perfect place to put his new train set we got him for Christmas! So we got the boys group gifts. We figured they were spoiled enough from their grandparents that they could live with sharing. Plus, Nolan pretty much thinks everything is his and Lukie is just using it for a little while. Funny kid.
We also got them this firetruck tent. Kendra and I had found these tents back in Tennessee after Thanksgiving. They were such a find!
Nolan thought it was the coolest thing. He immediately jumped in it. And Lukie loves to play hide and seek with it. Endless entertainment for the two of them.
The final gift, and Jake's favorite, was a doctor kit. Of course, Jake thinks that they should grow up to be just like him. It was a hit though. The stethoscope was just what Nolan had been wanting. He is always asking to play with daddy's. Also, the temperature gage and otoscope (don't know how to spell that) all light up when you push this little button. I even think it's fun to play with. Nolan will pretend look in your ears and check your heart. I think my boys know a little too much about what goes on in a doctors visit. They seem to be there quite often.
What a fun morning though. And it was nice to have just us. Nothing to go to, nothing to worry about. And we had Jake all to ourselves. I think that was the coolest thing about it for the boys. They love their daddy.
We did it! The year of walking!
