{tradition it seems}

So, you remember how Lukie was in the NICU last Christmas? Well it seems as though he was missing it so he decided to make a stop in. On Christmas morning Luke seemed very hot and had flushed cheeks and wasn't really acting like himself. We didn't think much of it and drug him around everywhere with us that day. We went to four different places. I know, I'm the worst mother ever!!!
After we got home from the last house Jake and I were planning on going to see Avatar. We put Luke in his jammies and gave him to Ann. He just layed there like a slug. Not like him at all!!! He is always on the go. Ann said he felt really hot. So we took his temperature and it was 105 degrees!!!! I was freeking out. We grabbed the diaper bag and left Nolan with the Rabe's and headed to the ER. This kid is killing me. He can't stay healthy if his life depended on it.
We went to Davis Hospital, which was a bad mistake. Horrible! They really need to do something about making their care more efficient. I had to ask someone to take our information for our insurance. I don't think they would have ever asked! What kind of hospital are you? One that doesn't want to get paid. So we waited forever!!! Which was funny because there was hardly anyone there. Finally the doc came in and checked all the usual stuff. He said his ears were red but they were dull and not shiny like an ear infection would be. So there was no explanation as to why he had this temp of 105. So we were sent back home.
Later that night Luke woke up screaming and Jake ran in to the room to find him covered in vomit. Luke had thrown up all over himself and couldn't breath. Have you ever heard of your kid dying from their own vomit. Well, this would have been it. It was a very long and hard night for all of us. Actually, it was a long and hard next few nights for us.
Poor Luke has endured a lot to come in to this world and hasn't managed to get much past being sick all the time. I've decided that Luke is our expensive baby. If we would have had no insurance or crappy insurance we probably wouldn't be able to have anymore kids. But we love him and are so grateful that he is so tough and can get through anything. We love you Luke, sickness and all!
