{birthday morning}

I can't believe my little Lukie is ONE!!!
He turned one on the 20th of December. Time went by too fast.
On the morning of his birthday my mom had a little gift all wrapped up for Lukie to open. We weren't planning on doing his big celebration till Jake got there and Nicole was blessing her baby the same day anyway.
So back to the present. When my mom gave the present to Luke he just stared at it and didn't know what to do. Don't worry, Nolan to the rescue!
Nolan knew exactly what to do. He is a pro at this. He immediately grabbed the present from Luke, (as if it was his present in the first place) started ripping it open, and wallah! Three cool trucks just Lukie's size. Notice in all of the pictures Nolan's arms or hand are in it or he has just completely taken the present from Luke. Nolan was having a hard time understanding that this was Luke's present. I can predict there are going to be many tantrums and fights over gifts in the future.

My dog was also loving the present, actually the wrapping. My dog loves any birthday or Christmas because it means endless wrapping paper for him. He usually sneaks up and grabs the paper so fast and runs off to a place and rips the paper to shreds. It is hilarious!
Back to the boys. My favorite picture that totally captures the moment is the one with Nolan and Luke and Nolan is pushing Lukie away from his own present. He was telling him it was his.
For a little while after the present was opened Nolan wouldn't give any of it to Luke to play with. It didn't matter how many times we would tell him the present was for Luke, he didn't care.

Good thing Luke didn't mind. He only sucked on it for a moment and then let Nolan have his glory.
Funny thing about this present. It started out with three trucks. A dump truck, cement mixer, and a tow truck. After Ashton and Charlie came over one day, we only came home with the tow truck. My mom still hasn't found the other two. Isn't it so mysterious how kids can hide toys where their parents will never find them?
