Jake had to take his Family Medicine test on Wednesday morning. That meant we couldn't head out the door until noon. We didn't actually get on the road and going until 12:30. So off we go. Let me just warn you.....it wasn't good! We hadn't even reached downtown Chi-town until about 5:30. I couldn't believe it!!!!!!! So if you look closely you will see the picture on the top right that has Chicago in the far back. Seriously, I could have turned back then. So then I took a picture of the time. Yeah, three hours on the road and we hadn't even come close to Chicago. AHHHHH!!!
Our boys were screaming, it was lovely. This was our official first family road trip. It started off with a bang.
After we got through Chi-town, which wasn't until 5:30pm, we headed over to Gary, Indiana. Don't worry, there was still traffic there. And then to Indianapolis, still traffic. The times we thought about just turning around we realized it would have taken us the same amount of time to get back home as to get to Nashville. It was a rough journey. Not one I would like to repeat. But we look back on it already and laugh. Well, sort of.
We did it! The year of walking!
