We had the best week ever with my mom. She surprised us with a visit back in the middle of October. My dad was going to be in DC so she decided to come and see us. We loved every second of it!!!!
My mom is so much fun to be around. My boys can't get enough of her. Nolan was so hyper the whole time she was here.
The first night we just stayed home and caught up. I felt like I haven't seen her in forever! But really it had only been since June. I know, I'm spoiled.
The next day we did some damage. My mom took us shopping. I wanted to change a few things in our apartment and make some of our old stuff look new again. So my mom helped us out. She bought us some paint to finish all of our bedroom furniture. I'm so excited about it. We have done one coat already! Pictures to come. She also got me a new lamp and clock to go on my wall and a bathroom floor mat and some things for the boys...
She really spoiled us. I loved shopping with her. And the boys were fabulous. Just give Nolan a new car and he is good to go. And Luke was just there for the ride.
On Saturday we decided to go to a pumpkin patch. It was called "The Elegant Farmer." Totally awesome!!!! I wish we would have known about this place the first two years here. It is so cute. When you first get there you pay to go on a hayride that takes you up to the apple picking and the pumpkin patch.
On our way up the ride was so fun. Nolan was in heaven because of the tractor pulling the trailer. All the trees were full of yummy apples!!!! My mom went crazy. We had so many apples.
After we did our apple picking we headed back on the hayride and up to the pumpkin patch. Not the best pumpkin patch, not even really a patch. They just threw a bunch of pumpkins in a field and you had to go and pick one. They were huge though!!!!! The one Jake picked out was pretty much bigger than Lukie. And it went all soft on us about 4 days later.
I felt like the worst mom ever because that day happened to be one of the coldest days so far and I only had my boys in layered coats not their big jackets. Nolan was freezing by the end. After we picked our pumpkin we went on the tractor once again and they took us back down to the main station. We paid for our stuff and then got two of the last homemade donuts there. Oh my gosh they were so delicious!!!! They were almost like a churro. I was in heaven!
All the fun was had so we packed up and headed home and mom treated us to some PF Chang's takeout. Yum!!!!
The whole day was a blast. I'm so glad my mom was there to make the memories with us. The boys love you and Nolan is still asking to go see Grammy. Thanks mom for spoiling us so much! We love you! Oh, and you looked so skinny!!!! What a sexy mama!
